Fontana: Southridge USA
Southridge or some may call it SRC, is a great place to go riding. It’s has a XC course, Downhill course and 4cross track. NORBA hosts its national events here and you’ll often see pro’s like Eric Carter as well as some of the KHS Downhill team members racing at this trail.
Anyhow, Priscilla decided to take a day off and we headed out to SRC. She’s been itching to race and since SRC is a race venue, we took a 40 minute drive to Fontana so she can get familiar with the course.
I loaded up my car with the Fezzari Alta Peak and the Woodstock 707.
Driving shots, check out our hats…we’re Hoss‘d out!
I like driving by shinny tanker trucks and seeing my reflection…what? You know you do the same thing!
Another shot…
The start of the first climb.
What sucks about Southridge is the first climb. You basically start climbing as soon you get on the trail. See those houses down there? That’s where we started from.
We’re at the top now. Here’s Priscilla pedaling strong and confident.
Here she is on one of the descents.
We got about half way through the course and decided to turn back. It was getting too warm, we started our ride at 11:30am…not smart since it gets kinda hot out there. Besides Priscilla didn’t feel too comfortable on the 707 since it is a bit heavier than her hard tail Ibex Trophy. I need to service her Marzocchi EXR fork, it started leaking last week.
Priscilla keeps nagging me to race Southridge on the next series…eh…we’ll see.
