Hoss Stallion Shorts: First Impression
I’ll admit that I’m a huge fan of the lycra. Most lycra shorts have superior chamois pads but since I’ve come across Hoss shorts I’m liking baggy shorts more and more. Well, Hoss baggies at least. Their new Stallion short is basically a board short with a detachable chamois liner. It detaches via the loops on the chamois. Squint hard and you can see them on either side of the waist.
The chamois looks like they put some work into it but time will tell how comfortable they are. It does look like a well thought out pad though and not just the regular foam one I’ve see on various baggies. Since I haven’t got a chance to ride with them yet I removed the chamois liner and tried out just the board short. They have that soft microsuede polyester that a good board short should have, in order to dry quickly. Plus they just feel damn good on my skin. What I’m most impressed with so far is that the zipper in the front along with the drawstrings. Nice. I get so sick of board shorts with the velcro strip.
Overall there are lots of pockets but nothing that seems to bunchy. They fit better than any board short I’ve ever tried and I go through 1 or 2 a year. As for function, I’ll get some off-road miles on theses babies and do a full review to test their durability and comfort so stay tuned!
