My Wife’s Progression
When I leave to go mountain biking, I always give my wife a kiss on the cheek and say a quick “bye” before I venture off. When I first started mountain biking, she would respond with some nice little phrase like: “Be Careful”. Nice, short and thoughtful (especially when she was half asleep).
Over the years, my side of the process has stayed the same but my wife has started changing the phrases she says to me. It started off with “Be Careful” then progressed to “Be Safe”. Since I guess I guess I can’t be both “careful” and “safe” while I’m riding she has now recently resorted to saying another nice phrase: “Don’t do anything stupid.”
Oh, how I love my wife! After 5 years of marriage and countless bike rides in between, she is finally starting to understand me and my riding.
Haha…nice post. Being safe and careful is easy to do…it is the being stupid part that gets us in trouble!
