Harbor Freight’s Hitch Mount Rack
I was googling “1 1/4″ to 2″ hitch adaptor” this morning for my Accord when I came across this website: Harbor Freight Tools. It only came up first because I accidentally spelled “adapter” as “adaptor”.
Looking through the site this no-name hitch mount bike rack caught my eye. Not so much for the design, but for the price: $29.99. It fits both 1-1/4″ and 2″ hitch mount receivers. $29.99! That’s a steal.

The red trim reminds me of a pricey name brand rack that rhymes with “takima”.

I was clued into Harbor Freight a few months ago during a Boy Scout meeting. What a find! It’s about 10 minutes from the house. Inexpensive everything to build/repair anything. Check out their $9.99 floor pump. I bought one and locked it the bike rack at work so anyone can top off before the ride home.
Ride on.
The very same bike rack is available at Walmarts under Bell name. I’ve bought this rack there when I needed one urgently. Two things worth mentioning here. One is that the rack gets loose in the 2″ receiver and whole rack swings back and forth. The rather problem is that those red plastic holders are rather small and hard to use on frames with bigger top tube diameter.
But as you say – it’s hard to beat for $29.99
