Do you struggle with wanting to go faster, but you can’t? Here’s a simple tech tip that will get you moving in no time.
Don’t do this…
Let go of your brakes!
Check out Pro KHS Racer and Team Director, Quinton Spaulding, not one finger is on his levers…and I bet he’s going super fast!
Don’t be too quick to slow down. Just let go and you’ll see how much faster you’ll be when you’re on the trail…
Absolutely correct!! I can tell how well I’m riding each day by how much I touched the brakes.
I’m glad you see my logic Dan.
This is also true while riding downhill, braking will kill some of the needed momentum to roll over some stuff. I also learned to minimize the use of the front brake since the bike tended to go under me.
ha ha, I tried this last year going in a leaned curved – my front wheel crumpled like a taco and I was thrown several feet in front of the handlebars. Not sure what happened but thankfully I was able to get up and carry my broken bike out.
