My Bicycle Related Bucket List
You would think that a fantastic mountain biker such as I, would be inclined to create a bucket list of all the different places that I’d ride my bike.
.
I’m sorry to disappoint you, but there’s only a few places where I’d be interested in riding before I die. But to give you an idea on what’s on my bucket list…here it goes…
1.Mountain bike in Hawaii while playing my Ukulele.
2.Go Giant Squid fishing.
3.Fly an airplane, even if its only for a few minutes.
4.Go to Japan and eat real Teriyaki Chicken.
5.Go to Tasmania and visit the town of Launceston (that’s the L in RL)
6.Sky Dive, but only if my brother is with me. He’s some crazy HALO Jump Master, so I trust him.
7.Go to Rays Indoor MTB Park
8.Own a Jeep Wrangler, with no doors. Plus I have to be wearing a Levi’s Jean jacket with fleece lining.
9.If I can’t own a Jeep, I’d get a Suzuki Samurai. Love those things!
10. Finally, I’d like to renew my vows with Priscilla through a bicycle themed wedding.
What about you? What’s on your bicycle related bucket list?
I’ve done a good loop through the Waimea Valley in Oahu. (BTW- this is where they filmed Lost and some other shows) I didn’t bring a Ukulele, but I’ll have to remember that for next time. Nice part is you can then hike over to the falls for a swim.

I just started reading your blog and riding through a fellow avid reader and biker. As a person who loves to travel when I can back to the homeland, I have to say mountain biking has entered my bucket list even though my list is rather long. At #20 – Mountain Biking Tour in the Philippines I prefer the Palawan tour. I have only heard great things about this island http://www.bugoybikers.com/en/tours/phl_biketour2.html
Here’s the (not so ambitious) bucket list I created last year:

I have a Filipino friend here at work who is trying to get me to take a trip to the Phillipines with him next year. A mtb trip is going to be the main attraction. If I can swing the airfare, it will definitely be done.
I like #7 of yours. Ray’s would be awesome to go to. Unfortunately you’d have to go to Cleveland and that would suck! 😉
Hey RL…have you seen this? http://www.ridediablo.com ,its here in the east coast tho. My list will include Hawaii also, but i cant ride and play ukelele at the same time…lol. and of course Philippines.
The only place I’ve ridden outside of Cali was in Yuma, Az.
No Bootleg, Gooseberry, or Moab? Those are some great areas a hop/skip/and a jump from SoCal.
I second Gooseberry and Moab. Northern Utah ain’t so bad, either.
I wouldn’t mind taking a trip up to Stanley, ID or Vancouver. North Carolina would be nice, too. SoCal, of course, too. So many places, only a finite number of rides left.
Ray’s is building another venue in….uh….Milwaukee. Not as far as Cleveland, but still not too convenient.
