Happy New Year!
Happy New Year and all that fancy stuff. So today we had our annual New Years Day Ride. We’ve been doing this ride for the last 5-7 years, kinda lost count. But we assembled a group ride with a few of our friends from various riding levels. We broke it down to 2 riding speeds/pace. There was the Dan pace (FAST) and the RL pace (slow). This meant the faster guys would be riding in the head of the pack while I rode the back. But I don’t like to say I’m slow, I just like to call what I do..”sweeping.” I’m basically making sure that no one is left behind.
At one of the sections of the Fullerton Loop, there’s a small little jump that we spent time on. We basically wanted to see who can go the highest.
Then there was Dan…they don’t call him “Super B” for nothing. He got like 3 feet of air…
But Khoa won for “Best in Style.”
Here’s our group photo: Alfredo Garcia, Tim Ciseaux, Ken Choi, Dan “Super B” Burdett, Khoa “homeowner” Nguyen, Doctor Thunda and Foxy.
Our ride was pretty mellow and a ton of fun. We were later joined by Team Racer Art Aguilar. I was actually surprised he made it out because 3 hours before our ride, he had posted a picture of himself on Facebook showing off his partying skills…
But like every New Years Day Ride we do, it always ends with a brunch at Farmer Boys.
Doc Thunda enjoying a Cake Pop that Priscilla made.
Try to figure out what Priscilla is saying with her fingers…
1. I had 2 pieces of bacon.
2. This is how many times I punched a lady at the mall for taking the last Pillow Pet from the shelf…
3. This is how many times RL asked me out before I said yes…
I hope you enjoyed our little ride report and if you did some riding today, let us know by leaving a comment.
After I saw that pic of Art I thought for sure he wasn’t going to make it out! 😀
Good times indeed! 🙂
Happy New Year!
Weird…Khoa’s bike doesn’t look like it ever left contact with the ramp, but HE’S flying! Funny stuff.
And — ART!!! — you rock, man. Hope your hangover wasn’t too bad!
