Interbike 2013: SEVEN iDP TACTIC SERIES PROTECTION
NEW PROTECTION COMPANY SEVEN??
I haven’t seen anything new come out to really impress me when it comes to protection, but when I was told about SEVEN iDP at the ROYAL both I had to check it out. I ran into Jason Schippers and he was kind enough to go over the new line.
TACTIC SERIES KNEE & ELBOW
The Tactic series of pads is the high end line in the SEVEN iDP line up. Their will be three in this line up, elbow, a short knee, and a longer knee/shin version.
Here is a quick break down of the features they share. All three use the boa system ( if you are not familiar with this system its a twist system that will tighten up around the area intended and release by simply pulling up on the knob), X-Profile cap (Curv low weight, high strength 1mm cap), floating sockets for the knee and elbow witch allows the movement while pedaling and moving on the bike, a double layer perforated custom foam for increased air flow, on the fly micro adjustment, TPR flex supports protecting the knee in conjunction with the X-Profile cap, custom Seven polygon neoprene offer great ventilation.
The knee/shin offers the ability to quick release the pad for removal without taking off your shoes, which is a plus in my opinion.
All pads are designed beyond normal CE EN 1621 ratings and will come in sizes from S/M/L/XL.
SEVEN iDP looks to not have missed a beat with their pad design next to the other guy who has the boa system.
Look for their full line up soon.
