  1. Absolutely correct!! I can tell how well I’m riding each day by how much I touched the brakes.

  2. This is also true while riding downhill, braking will kill some of the needed momentum to roll over some stuff. I also learned to minimize the use of the front brake since the bike tended to go under me.

  3. ha ha, I tried this last year going in a leaned curved – my front wheel crumpled like a taco and I was thrown several feet in front of the handlebars. Not sure what happened but thankfully I was able to get up and carry my broken bike out.
