RL Policar-Newest member to the MtnBikeRiders.com Race Team, Mark “The Polish HAMMER” Tomas was on scene to try his hand in the Over The Hump Race Series held in Irvine Lake, Ca. I’m actually not surprised with Hammer’s performance, he’s one top notch athlete. Way to bang Mark!

I was at my LBS getting some parts a few weeks back, and a shop employee told me about the Over the Hump Series at Irvine Lake. He had nothing but good things to say about the event. So this past Tuesday my good friend Chuck and I went to check it out. This series of races are held on Tuesday nights. Gates open at 4pm, race starts promptly at 6pm.You are also able to pre ride the course, which we did.

Hammer with friend Chuck

Just to get a feel for it. This is my first race in the sport class, at the starting line there was a large group, 40 total for my age class! The course has a good mix of fire road an singletrack. The guys in my class were really hammering, I found a group pushing a good pace and tried my best to keep up. By the third lap my legs were done! When the results were posted, I placed 9th. I was stoked to be in the top ten!

In all the categories, the top 30% earn a prize for the hard work. This week we were awarded with a pint glass with the series logo.

I used mine for milk and cookies!

It was a good vibe and great racing, I would recommend checking it out.Hopefully I will be out there again of the next one.

Mark, are you wearing white gloves in the picture of you with your new found glass?

    Signed,

They are not white, but they are a new transparent glove I am testing out for a local company. Almost feels like your not wearing gloves.
