Coconut Water Better Than Gatorade?

Main Mountain Biking

It could be….well, at least that’s what this one company is saying about their new product. I found this while vacationing in San Diego, Ca. Young Coconut is my favorite fruit in the world. In fact I usually will buy a case of them (young coconut) at least once every 2 weeks just so I can enjoy them at home. But I never knew that the juice/water in the coconuts had any nutritional value.

Check it out, more potassium, less sodium and less sugar….not bad!

I haven’t had a chance to do a formal review on it since I wasn’t riding much while I was in San Diego. Besides, I love the way it tasted that I ended up finishing it last night. But I do plan on getting some more of it to ride with and see if it makes some sort of impact in my hydration and riding.

  1. I’ve heard is really good, but you have to be careful.
drink too much and you may have to make a pit stop behind the bushes, make sure to bring toilet paper too.

  2. I’ve been drinking coconut water for years…actually since I was kid. I’ve never had the runs because of it. But just to be safe, I’ll bring a roll of TP with me!

    thanks Felipe!

  3. Remember, though, that if you’re exerting yourself that you need to replenish some sodium. There’s a reason sweat is salty.
