If you all didn’t know, today is Hug An Angry Asian Day. To celebrate this great day, we decided to assemble post-work ride with a few Asians and a couple of Mexicans, we added Moe and Priscilla in the mix because we don’t discriminate.
Here’s how our ride started…

Before we ended our ride, we got attacked by two squirrels that really ticked me off. I was pretty livid from the situation, but lucky for me, Moe remembered that it was Hug an Angry Asian Day, and implemented a much needed hug.
I know what you’re thinking, and no I don’t really consider myself “Asian,” but I figured it was close enough so I could technically still benefit from this festive day.
To cap off the night, we stopped off at our favorite Americanized Mexician-ish Fish Taco place, Wahoo’s.
If you missed out on Hug an Angry Asian Day, don’t worry, much like the Chinese New Year, the celebration actually lasts for 3 months!

Show Commentsactually, the Philippines (all fifty bajillion islands of it!) is very much part of Asia. i know a surprising amount about the place, mostly because i dated a Filipino girl a long time ago (well, half-Filipino. her dad was British). apparently, her mom’s side of the family that still lived there was pretty wealthy (although, and no offense here, but “wealthy” in the Philippines is a pretty loose definition, considering how poor a large part of the country is). anyway, her mom was really cool, but when her mom’s Filipino friends would come over, it was really strange listening to them speak Tagalog. her dad would always leave the room, and one time he told me, “We’ve been married for 20 years and i can only understand about five words in Tagalog…and that’s only if she slows down her speech by like 200 percent.” even my girlfriend and her sisters couldn’t understand it, and they’d been around it their whole lives!
anyway, that girl was hot (but unfortunately duck-nuts crazy). i actually miss her mom’s cooking though…she ALWAYS had lumpia made up and they were delicious! i always thought Filipino food was generally pretty awesome two: basically a combination of Hispanic and Chinese/Asian food, two of my favorites! one thing i did notice though (and i’m not sure if it’s a cultural thing or just their family), but my girlfriend, her sisters and her mom all used TONS of salt in everything (or fish sauce, soy sauce, other salty stuff)! i actually ran into my ex a few years ago, and we decided to go to lunch (pho)…i finished mine and she asked if i wanted the rest of her noodles and broth. i took one spoonful and almost spit it out because it tasted like she’d dumped half a bottle of fish sauce in it!
also: do i get points for the most random reply ever? i totally got into the reminiscing and completely forgot about your original post! ;P i probably shouldn’t drink n’ reply anymore.
We have to get Jeremy Yang on one of our rides…. although he is so mild mannered that he does not get angry that easy.

Yep, most definitely part of Asia. We’re actually a Southeast Asian country. Of course we consider ourselves Pacific Islanders, cuz well, we’re an archipelago in the Pacific, but we’re a melting pot of cultures and ethnicities.
