long time, but here in Japan our space is very limited. so that means that I don’t get to work on my bicycles as much as I would like. Or at least to the degree that you guys do.
My bedroom is the size of your bathroom and that’s where I do all my work. Sometimes I’ll bring my tools with me when I ride so I can work on my bike outside.
I just got a new fork, what’s the best way to cut the steerer tube?

I do everything on my bikes except truing wheels. I never did spend the time to learn to do it right.

I do my own. I spent several years as a bike mechanic and it seems fitting to keep doing my own work despite the arthritis that caused me to stop doing it fulltime this spring. In the midst of a custom 96er commuter.
I try to do most of my work. Recently on a frame swap I got everything switched over and just could not get the deraileurs set up right. I finally broke down and brought it to a shop. Its shifts perfect now.
