Jet Fighter Helmet: The Beginning

By RL Policar

So I was able to trade Moe an 8 pack of Old Rasputin Imperial Stout for an extra large full face helmet. I put the thing on and felt like Darth Helmet but the plan wasn’t to wear this beast. My idea was to give the helmet to my cousin for a fully custom paint job. He runs his own airbrushing business and has done everything from drag racers to cheerleader boxes so I was excited to see if he couldn’t put together a cool looking helmet for me. This will strictly be a personal art piece.

Bare bones

Busy lives had kept us apart for a while so I was really curious to see one of his finished products. Below you can kind of get an idea of the styling on the helmet. It’ll be a WWII/jet fighter/mountain bike themed piece. I guess that’s all I’ll divulge at this point but the finished helmet should be done in about a week. I’ll be walking through the entire process involved in airbrushing the helmet so check back in for a gander.

Unfinished, rear view
