Santiago Oaks Shuttle

One of my favorite trails this year has to be Santiago Oaks.  For the last 3-4 months, I’ve frequent this place more than I have any other trails in So Cal.  Not only is it local, but totally fun!  You get both worlds – the workout from climbing the 3Bs and the reward of a long descent.  You may have seen the several posts or videos within the last several months. 

This morning was another trip to S. Oaks.  This was a treat as I joined friends that I have not riddenn with for quite some time.  What is a “shuttle”?…the riders and bikes would be taken to the top of the trail via truck/some type of vehicle, get dropped off and ride to the bottom… basically bypass any climbing or any major pedaling and just get right down to business. :)

In total our group consisted of friends such as Val, Dave, Brian, Traci (Bad Girl of DH), and Tyler Wilson – local Intense Pro Rider.   This was a fun fast paced ride!  Trying to keep up with Brian and was super fun and Tyler was off the charts.  At the bottom of the trail, Neil took us to a singletrack that led to the exit.  It was a trail that I have been wanting to try for quite some time.  Super cool singletrack that was an alternative to the fireroad exit.  On the ride out to the car Brian, Traci and I pulled the rear as our “heavy” bikes couldnt keep up with the rest of the gang.

We had a great ride without any incidents.  Below is a video from of our ride.  Val and I had two runs overall.  With each of us having prior commitments we couldn’t stay.  The rest of the group went back up for some more fun.
