When Is It Time To Replace Your Helmet?

Do you still have an old helmet you’ve been riding with?

Well I just learned from the LBS that I moonlight at, that helmets should be replaced every three years. They said something about the foam integrity goes down over time so the best way to keep your noggin protected is to make sure your helmet is up to date.

Now could this just be a ploy for LBS’s and helmet manufacturers to get people to spend money on helmets? Maybe, but I’m not going to take that chance, I have to protect my money maker.

I am due for a new helmet, so help me pick one out…
