Not sure if you already know this, but if someone were to say “Ya I’d have a beer with him” that usually means the person in question is cool enough to hang out with.
Here’s what I mean by this. There’s people in your life that you would want to spend more time with and others you really don’t. Perfect example are coworkers. Let’s say your boss is a cool guy, but you wouldn’t necessarily want to sit down and have a beer with him, in fact he’s the main reason why you drink. Then there’s your other coworkers who are cool people, you know the guy that you go to happy hour with, ya that’s the one.
Mind you this also translate into the biking world. There’s some guys you’d ride bikes with and may not want to go drink with, and vice versa.
