TODAY REMINDED ME OF WHY I LOVE MOUNTAIN BIKING

This afternoon Priscilla and I were talking in the living room about mountain biking. So I got up and said, “Let’s go! Priscilla looked at me and asked if I was serious since I’ve been having some knee pain lately. I reassured her that I was and that I’ll make sure that I take it super easy. That meant granny gear on just about any little climb I had.

So we loaded up the car with our bikes and headed down to the trail head. We road about 4-5 miles and during some of the small descents I yelled out to Priscilla, who was ahead of me because she’s a speed demon, “Oh man! This is what I’ve missed about mountain biking!

I was sooo happy to be out on the trails feeling the dirt under my tires, taking jumps here and there and having the air hit my face…oh man it was great! I felt great, like a million bucks! I was confident, focused and really enjoying every single inch of the trails.

I guess having time off from the saddle made me realize how much I love this sport. I took riding for granted because I remember just trying to go faster and faster seeing if I could beat my old time or beat someone else’s time. But Priscilla reminded me today that I just need to enjoy the ride. Just to relax and take it easy, and I did, and I loved it!
