BB7 in Black for 2008
Bikemag.com has a picture of the new 2008 Avid BB7. Here’s the writeup:
Avid BB7 – The BB in BB7 stand for “ball bearing� and anyone who has used them knows how smooth and simple these mechanical disc calipers are to use and set up. This was the disc brake that starting it all for SRAM and they are giving the BB7 and update with a refined casting and new color.
Lots of us here run either BB5 or BB7 brakes. They are a great mechanical disc brake system.
There is also a new addition to Avid’s lineup with the Code 5. Like the Juicy 5, the Code 5 is a step down from the original Code brakes. Here’s what Bikemag.com has to say:
Avid Code 5 Disc Brakes – The new Code 5 is less expensive than the original Code brake. The Code 5 has the same four-piston caliper, sandwiched banjo bolt and pit bull bite on the rotors, but its simpler one-piece lever lacks the triple oversized cartridge bearing assembly and the pad contact point adjustment knob. We expect these to be a popular OEM spec on many new DH and freeride bikes.
